Bureau of International Recycling

Location : Brussels, Avenue Franklin Roosevelt
Period : 2025
Area : 450 sqm

Eco-Responsible Renovation of the BIR Headquarters
The Bureau of International Recycling (BIR) — the only global federation representing the recycling industry — brings together more than 30,000 companies worldwide, including over 950 direct members and 37 national associations across 70 countries. As global leaders in the supply of recycled raw materials, BIR members stand at the forefront of sustainable economic development.
In line with this international commitment to circularity, Greenarch was appointed to deliver a full renovation of the building envelope, including the refurbishment of the traditional slate roof, and to expand the office space on the second floor. This upgraded level now features an additional meeting room seamlessly connected to a bright and collaborative open space, designed to enhance both productivity and comfort.
The full building interior has been reimagined with a contemporary and environmentally conscious approach: recycled carpet tiles, eco-friendly paints, low-energy lighting, and durable finishes. Every design choice reflects a commitment to reducing environmental impact while elevating the prestige and functionality of the BIR headquarters.
This project stands as a prime example of high-value, eco-friendly renovation, showcasing Greenarch’s ability to create sustainable, elegant, and forward-thinking spaces for leading global institutions.
