Sustainable Renovation of an Art Deco House

Located avenue des Phalènes just steps from Avenue Franklin Roosevelt, this Art Deco house stands out for its remarkable façade, which was carefully insulated and restored while preserving its original architectural qualities.

The addition of a recessed upper floor made it possible to create office space for the young occupants, whose family has grown, while maintaining the building’s overall balance and proportions. The central staircase, a true light well, was preserved in its original character, and a glazed floor allows natural light to penetrate deep into the heart of the project.

At the rear of the house, the living area now incorporates the kitchen, which was relocated from the front façade to the garden side, creating a seamless connection between interior living spaces and the outdoor environment. The bedrooms, bathrooms, and bespoke furniture were selected with great care, ensuring comfort, harmony, and quality.

Particular attention was given to the project’s energy and environmental performance. A fully integrated and invisible mechanical ventilation system with heat recovery, enhanced insulation, and the use of natural materials enabled an environmentally responsible renovation, achieving an energy performance rating of PEB B.
